Amna Al-Bakria

Amna Al-Bakria (1): Amna Bint Abdullah Bin Ahmed Bin Abi Al-Qasim Bin Abi Al-Aafiah Bin Abi Bakr Al-Shakouriya Al-Bakria was from Chefchaouen (in present-day Morocco), where she was born. She later lived and died in Dará. Her ancestry could be traced back to Sidi Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) through her well-renowned pious ancestor, the Honorable “Wali Allah Ta’ala” and Noble Hajji, Al-Sayyid Abi Ali Hassoun Bin Abdul-Halim Bin Isma’il Bin Dawud Bin Ishaq Bin Abdul-Halim Bin Abdel-Rahman Bin Muhammad Bin Yahya Bin Abdul-Aziz Bin Abdul-Qader Bin Idris Bin Abdul-Jalil Bin Ahmed Bin Muhammad Bin Yusuf Bin Yahya Bin Abdul-Samad Bin Abdul-Jabbar Bin Abdul-Sadeq Bin Idris Bin Ahmed Bin Abdel-Rahman Bin Ahmed Bin Muhammad Bin Yusuf Bin Abi Bakr Bin Abdel-Rahman—the son of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), the beloved Companion of Allah’s Messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

Amna Al-Bakria (may Allah have mercy on her) was born in 1089 AH and grew up in a religious, modest environment under the care of her parents. She married Sheikh Imam Abu Al-Abbas Ahmed Bin Muhammad Bin Naser (may Allah have mercy on him) in 1102 AH. Blessed with both inner and outer beauty, Amna Al-Bakria was a woman of great virtue, piety, and generosity who was known to think well of all people. She regularly observed night prayers, recited the Qur’an, and performed as many voluntary acts of worship as possible. She worked in the field of medicine, treating the poor, the weak, the homeless, and others when they fell ill. She did not take any money in return, hoping for the reward of Almighty Allah.

She died of an intestinal ailment, giving her the status of a martyr, on 4 Safar 1153 AH (a Sunday afternoon). Her body was prayed over at mid-morning the next day, with the prayer led by Abu Al-Abbas Ahmed Bin Mas’ud Al-Kansusi and attended by many people. Afterwards, she was laid to rest in Rawdhat Al-Qutb Abi Muhammad Abdullah Bin Husayn.
